A great way for a quick change is custom pillows. They can bring a look of fun, or sophistication to any space. Here are a few tips when it comes to designing and picking pillows for your sofa. Design a pair of pillows that are either 20 or 22 inches square to place on the far right and left of the sofa, these are your "anchor" pillows. You then want to work your way into the middle of the sofa. You can add smaller square pillows or you could add a lumbar pillow. Of course this is just one example the possibilities for pillows are endless. The most important thing to remember is you want to create visual interest with different heights of pillows and different styles. Mix and match your fabrics, sofa upholstery and pillow fabrics should never be the same. If you have a solid fabric on your sofa use a print on your pillows. We recommend and use down inserts rather than polyester. They are more comfortable and better looking. They do require a good fluffing every now and then. Trim or contrast welting is often over looked when it comes to designing pillows. Trim is a great way to pull more colors into the space or compliment the colors you have. Maybe you have a navy blue sofa and the other accents in your room are red and gold. Find a trim for the sofa pillows that pulls that red and gold. Nothing makes a space pop like paying attention to the little details Your decorative choices should be fun and show your personality. Throw something quirky or unpredictable into the mix, it will reflect you and be a great conversation piece.
The geometric shapes in the fabric compliment and play off of the design of the chair. This fabric is an exclusive design by Ground Works for Kravet.

Are your dining chairs ready for the holidays? Look at these before and afters and let us help you get your chairs ready. Window Treatments just like fashion, and food vary from country to country. We have found a few images from other countries to show the different styles. The first set of images are from Turkey and there style of window treatments is very lavish, and formal looking. They are most often layered as well. This set of images is from England, they seem to prefer a structured style and use lots of cornices and valances in there designs. Sophisticated and simple these curtains from Japan feature a simple swag and sheer panels layered together. France appears to have a similar style to England. The balloon shade appears to be a popular style along with layering with lace. Hopefully we inspired you today with our look into other countries window styles.
This leather chair was in a sad state when it came into Blawnox Upholstery. The leather was cracked, torn and the foam had definitely seen better days. The client wanted to repair the chair back to its original state. We replaced all the foam padding and reupholstered the chair in a recycled leather. The client was very concerned with it looking just how it was, so we spent time helping the client match the original leather as closely as possible and used picture references given to us by the client. The client was very pleased with the outcome and the chair went home yesterday.

Amazing before and after of a antique sofa. We eliminated the channeling in the back changing the style to one solid piece. The seating was also changed from three separate sofa cushions to one solid cushion. The fabric chosen is a nice soft neutral fabric with texture and a linen look. So the next time Grandma tries to give you her antique sofa or you find one at a garage sale don't pass it over! We can help change the look and update the style and you can have a truly one of a kind find!
